Number 1 this week in 1980
On January 27, 1980 the number one single in the UK singles chart was The Pretenders with Brass In Pocket. Surely, one of Chrissy Hynde’s finest hours. Also, a pretty decent video considering how early into the medium it was at the time.
One the same date in the United States, the number one song in the Billboard chart was Michael Jackson with Rock With You. Released off of the classic Off The Wall album, it is also considered to be one of Michael Jackson’s finest vocal efforts.
