In the United States, the song on top of the Billboard charts for this week in 1980 was Blondie with Call Me.  The disco vibe was still going strong in the charts on both sides of the ocean.

Woman was the first song to be released after his death and was the second single  from his Double Fantasy album.  Woman stayed at number one in the UK charts for two weeks before being knocked off by a re-release of his own Imagine.

Over in the United States, the mood on the top of the charts was very different on this week in 1981. Blondie had reached the number one slot with Tide Is High.
